Fruit of the Spirit – Week Two: Joy

Discussion: What is joy? What makes you happy?
Activity: Teach the song Rejoice in the Lord Always.
Discussion: What is the opposite of joy? What makes you sad?
Activity: Draw two circles in the workbook. Draw a happy face in one and a sad face in the other.
Discussion: What kind of things does God bless us with? Why should we be joyful about what he does for us?
Activity: Look for pictures of things God has blessed us with. Stick them in the workbook.
Discussion: How can we bring joy to other people?
Activity: Make a card. Have Mom or Dad write an encouraging message inside. Give it to someone.
Activity: Read the story of the woman and the lost coin. (Luke 15:1-10)
Discussion: Why was the woman so happy about finding her coin? What is your “gold coin”? What makes the angels in heaven rejoice?
For the weekend:
Put on a worship CD and dance. Hide some treasured things around the house or in the garden. Let the children look for them.
