Reading: Alas, I am between books at the moment – but don’t feel too sorry for me. Tomorrow is Library Day! Good news for me; not-so-good news for the girls. We’ll be returning their current favourite book, Die Beste Toebroodjie. This is the third time they’ve loaned it, and I anticipate tears when we take it back. I’ve tried to find it online but no one has it in stock.
Watching: Rizzoli & Isles. I’m a fan of Tess Gerritsen’s novels and I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to give the TV series a chance. I’m always reluctant to watch film versions of the books I’ve read because, most of the time, the screen versions don’t measure up to the books. As I expected, Rizzoli & Isles is very different to the novels – but not in a bad way. The TV series doesn’t try to follow the books exactly, and that works in the show’s favour. I think it’s well-written and I like that there are two strong female characters as leads.
Knitting: I am doing my best to finish Angie’s legwarmers before ballet classes resume on Thursday. (Note to self: next time, find a pattern that requires bigger needles!) I’m also working on scarves as farewell gifts for the girls’ teachers.
Preparing: I think I’m ready to start homeschooling. The first week’s material is printed, the things that need to be laminated have been laminated, and I’ve worked out a rough idea of what I want our homeschool day to look like. Now it’s just the countdown until we begin. Two weeks to go!
Feeling: I’m really proud of my husband. He started studying theology part-time this year, and last night he preached his first sermon at our church. He was nervous about preaching and spent every free minute last week doing sermon prep. And he did really well!
What are you up to today?
