My girls love colouring, so I wanted to make them a maths activity that involves colouring. They also like flowers, and since we’re doing the letter D, it seemed like the obvious choice to make a daisy-themed count and colour book.
I asked the girls to identify the number shown at the bottom of the page, and then to colour the matching number of petals.
Emmy started off well – and I was impressed with her efforts to colour inside the petal – but by the time we got to number 8, she was over it and started scribbling over the whole flower.
Angie had so much fun with this book. She was careful to make sure she had the right number of petals, and she made different patterns with the colours.
