For the last few years we’ve done a Jesse Tree as we count down to Christmas. This year, I’ve decided to do something different. We’re going on holiday in December – our first as a family of four! – so we need something portable and that won’t take up too much space in the car.
I made this cute matchbox Advent calendar in less than an hour, and I’m quite pleased with how it turned out.
Because we want to keep the focus on Jesus, I’ve put a Scripture reference inside each box. Every day, we’ll read the verse and pick the matching name of Jesus from the extra box.
The references and names I used are available as a subscriber-only freebie. Simply sign up to receive my newsletter, and you will be given access to this printable as well as future printables. I plan to send out one email a week – so no spam, I promise – though the reality is that I’ll probably only send out one every two weeks.

Now, any suggestions for crafts I can do with 25 boxes worth of matches? 🙂
